Term: 6 months
Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Pay Rate: $140-$145/hr
A hospital in San Rafael, CA is looking for Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to provide additional coverage for increased patient load. These locum tenens positions are a 6-month term with the ability to extend. Providers will work 1-2 days per week as 1st assist and the rest will be clinic/rounding on ortho patients.

Qualifications of Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA):
Active California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License
Nurse Practitioners must be RNFA certified
Active BLS certification
Board Certification required
EPIC experience preferred
COVID vaccine and one booster required
Must be able to scrub and assist total joint procedures, sports and hand cases
1 year orthopedic surgery experience within the last 2 years required
Duties/Responsibilities of Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA):
Scrub and assist in total joint, sports medicine and hand procedures
Round on orthopedic patients in the hospital, assessing their condition, managing pain, and providing education
See patients in the outpatient clinic, diagnosing conditions, prescribing medications, and developing treatment plans
Manage urgent and emergency orthopedic cases as needed
Handle a high-volume clinic workload, seeing approximately 20 patients per day
Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to provide comprehensive patient care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
