Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring Licensed Psychiatric Technicians for a California state correctional facility in Lancaster, CA These positions are 6-month contracts with the ability to extend.

Qualifications of Psychiatric Technician (LPT):

  • 1 year of experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT)

  • Current CA LPT License

  • BLS certification from American Heart Association

Duties/Responsibilities of Psychiatric Technician (LPT):

  • Observe and document patient behavior, including mood, affect, and any signs of distress

  • Prepare, administer, and document medications as prescribed by the psychiatrist or physician

  • Assist in de-escalation techniques and interventions for agitated or aggressive inmates

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients

  • Communicate effectively with psychiatrists, nurses, and other members of the treatment team regarding patient status and care needs
