    • Pay Rate: $100-$105/hr


A California State Correctional Facility in Jamestown, CA is looking for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for the outpatient unit. These positions are 6-month terms with the ability to extend. Part-time and full-time shift schedules are available, please inquire about your preferred schedule.

Qualifications of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP):

  • Current CA Nurse Practitioner License

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association 

Duties/Responsibilities of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP):

  • Health Assessments: Conducting comprehensive physical exams and health assessments for incarcerated individuals. 

  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions, including prescribing medications and treatments. 

  • Emergency Care: Providing immediate care for medical emergencies and stabilizing patients before further treatment. 

  • Chronic Disease Management: Monitoring and managing chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and mental health disorders. 

  • Infection Control: Implementing and adhering to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. 

  • Patient Education: Educating inmates on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication adherence. 

  • Collaboration: Working with correctional officers, physicians, mental health professionals, and other healthcare staff to provide comprehensive care. 

  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. 

  • Mental Health Support: Assessing and providing care for inmates with mental health conditions, including crisis intervention.
