GENERAL SURGERY Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: SAN LEANDRO, CA
Setting: OR
Term: 3 months with option to extend
Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8-hour shifts. No call.
Pay Rate: $125-$130/hr
A hospital in San Leandro, CA is looking for General Surgery Physician Assistants to provide additional coverage for increased patient load. Providers will focus on general surgery cases with possibility of some ortho, urology, GI and GYN cases.

Qualifications of adult Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (PA/NP):
Active California Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License
Active BLS certification
Active DEA license
Board Certification required
EPIC experience preferred
COVID vaccine and one booster required
1 year family medicine experience within the last 2 years required
Duties/Responsibilities of adult Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (PA/NP):
Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations, including patient history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic tests.
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing exposure, handling instruments, suturing, and controlling bleeding.
Administer medications and fluids as directed by the surgeon and anesthesiologist.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate intervention in the event of surgical complications, such as hemorrhage, hypotension, or cardiac arrest.
Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and ancillary staff, to optimize patient care outcomes.
